How is this different from other "personalised" books?
Most are pre-written templates with your child's name or face dropped in. We write the whole story — and illustrate every page — from scratch, around your child and what you'd like them to learn.
Will the character actually look like my child?
Share a photo when you order and we will capture their likeness — hair colour, skin tone, freckles, birthmarks, everything — all in our unique illustration style. Rather not share a photo? Just describe them and we'll bring them to life!
Do I get a say before it's made?
Yes — before you pay. You’ll meet their character, created from your photo, and choose from four story ideas written especially for them. You decide which one we turn into their story, and nothing is charged until you’ve seen what we’ve created.
How long does it take?
Story ideas in minutes. Once you’ve chosen, your finished book is usually printed and posted within three working days.
Is my child's photo safe?
Completely. It is stored privately, never publicly, and used only to bring their character to life. We permanently delete it 30 days after your book is dispatched, and it is never used for anything else.
What if I'm not happy?
You'll read the finished book — every page — before we print anything. Not quite right? Tell us what to change and we'll keep revising until it is, as many times as it takes.
Once the team has started your book, we don't offer refunds for a change of heart — every book is written and illustrated from scratch for one child, and that takes real time and skill. Instead, we keep working on it with you until you're happy, right up until you say print it.
Can I buy this as a gift if I’m not the parent?
A gift card is the better buy. The questions here are about one child — what they love, and what they’re finding hard — and the parent is best placed to answer them. Send a gift card and they choose the story themselves. It arrives by email in seconds and is valid for 12 months.
